Style, Elegance and Wit: The Artwork of James Spencer Russell, opened to a rousing reception on April 4, 2014. The crowd was the largest that the Indiana State Museum had seen at an opening in quite some, and it was the loudest.
Indeed there was an incredible buzz in the reception hall and gallery. People appreciated seeing Jim’s art and were surprised at the fact that James Spencer Russell’s art was virtually unknown, until the exhibition’s opening.
Reaction to our book was very positive and many copies were purchased by those interested in learning more about Jim.
Big thanks to everybody that attended the exhibition’s opening and supported our dream becoming a reality. If you couldn’t attend the opening, don’t fret. The exhibition is open through October 12 and is included with the entrance fee to the Indiana State Museum.
A private reception on Wednesday was hosted by Dr. Robert Lebow, MD at Midland Arts and Antiques Market previewing the exhibition.
